Job Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Performs complex technical services and direct client assistance
services.  Responsible for the 2-1-1 database, including but not limited
to, keeping the agency and program information accurate and up to date,
contacting agencies in order to ensure accurate information, seeking
new resources, special projects, providing information to the state-wide
database, and assisting Operations Manager with reports.  Works under
the general supervision of the 2-1-1 AIC Operations Manager with
considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent
judgment.



ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

1.    Immediate Supervisor:  2-1-1 AIC Operations Manager

2.    Employees Supervised:  None

3.    Other:  Has regular contact with social service agencies throughout Hardin, Jefferson and Orange Counties



EXAMPLES OF WORK:



Maintains and updates the 2-1-1 regional database for Hardin, Jefferson
and Orange counties in accordance with AIRS Standards and TIRN Style
Policies



Confirms trouble-free access to all database entries for Call Technicians



Researches, compiles, edits and prints monthly, quarterly and annual reports as well as reports as requested



Prepares and coordinates database update requests with agencies



Provides written requests for information about 2-1-1 to organizations



Communicates with service agencies by telephone, email or in person, to
clarify database applications at least once annually, and throughout the
year as needed



Assist Operations Manager and Call Technicians with completion of the
statistical reports for DADS and HHSC and other reporting requirements



Communicates with Operations Manager and Call Technicians about newly
added resources or major/pertinent resource data changes and applies
changes to the database



Communicates with Software Company concerning resolution of technical issues



Communicates with appropriate SETRPC and TIRN staff member(s) regarding internet, database and/or phone equipment issues



Identifies new resources to include in the database following inclusion/exclusion criteria



Interprets and applies inclusion and exclusion criteria



Serves in emergency situations in accordance with the SETRPC/2-1-1 Emergency Operations Manual



Maintains updated Database Resource Specialist Training Manual



Provides 2-1-1 Texas phone line coverage as directed by the Operations Manger



Assists Call Technicians in resolving database or equipment issues



May assist with training new 2-1-1 employees



Assists with the accreditation process as directed by the Operations Manager.



Attends training events, conferences, seminars and meetings as approved by the Operations Manager



Performs related work or special projects as assigned


 

Qualifications GENERAL QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES

Education and Experience:
Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent. Experience in an Area Information Center is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Exceptional organizational skills including the ability to coordinate multiple tasks

High level customer service skills

Proficiency in using computer equipment, various software and communication equipment

Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and database concepts with advanced skills in Excel and Word

Accurate data entry skills


CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED

Valid Texas driverís license

Acquire and maintain AIRS Certified Resource Specialist (CRS) Certification

Acquire and maintain AIRS Certified Information & Referral Specialist (CIRS)
Compensation $28,000 - $31,000
