How You Can Use 2-1-1 in Hurricane Season
Just one of the thousands of Community Services you can reach through 2-1-1 Texas, a HELP LINE for any Life Difficulty is --- pre-registration for state provided evacuation transportation, which is referred to as the Transportation Assistance Registry (TAR). 2-1-1 Texas is the access point to pre-register to be evacuated by emergency officials, (not 2-1-1), should you have NO WAY OUT in the event of an evacuation -- for any disaster. Plus, 2-1-1 is the easy to remember number to call during and after an evacuation or any disaster for disaster related resources. Wow, 2-1-1 . . . Who Knew!
Everyone, Even You, Can Use 2-1-1 During Disaster
Call 2-1-1 to get evacuation updates, school & business closings and re-openings, rumor answers, comfort station locations, roof tarps, as well as distribution sites for food, ice, water, and more.
Go ahead and pre-program this number into your cell phone, if you have one, in case evacuation takes you outside Texas: 1-877-541-7905. This number will still connect you to your 2-1-1 in Texas, if you are calling from another state.
